Gen Z is spending more on essentials than previous generations, yet their wages aren't keeping up.

It's no wonder they aren't "spending like retailers need them to."

When 70% of the economy depends on consumer spending, people need money to spend. It's as simple as that.

It’s not our fault the right decided that not being a massive antisocial prick is left-coded now.

We actually didn’t do that. That was all them.
The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

The U.S. has conducted 19 strikes on alleged drug-carrying boats, killing at least 76 people.

Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.

He’s unilaterally acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

This is a danger to us all.

In especially such an atrociously grossest time that the House & U.S. government are trying to blatantly force on us 18+/NSFW/kink/smut artists everywhere with such many fatally repugnant censorship bills as KOSA, SCREEN Act, & such, you are 𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘 correct. 💯🎯

That is why I want to share this:
Fascists love online ID checks.

Our team at @fightforthefuture.org breaks down why this is and how it’s a threat for us all.

Some key takeaways from today’s hearing:

-Many acknowledged that Senate KOSA is a threat to free expression.

-Bills discussed have similar issues to KOSA, esp online ID checks.

-The bad idea that surveillance + censorship will keep kids safe online drove the discussion.

KEEP AT EM! ✊
NEW: We hosted a live-stream of today's House Energy & Commerce committee hearing to provide commentary + analysis as Congress considers bills that would mandate online ID checks across the internet and censor very important resources for young people.

The people who operate the tools and platforms required to meet this legal requirement literally can never be trusted.

As a developer no institution I have ever worked for has taken consumer privacy seriously enough when push came to shove (i.e money)

It's never about the children, it's about control. Personal responsibility when people need help, but government action with people need to be controlled. Going full fascism there.
🚨‼️As of yesterday KOSA is at 64 cosponsors with @vanhollen.senate.gov + @kim.senate.gov - who claim to support LGTBQ+ rights but are clearly okay with supporting legislation that’ll censor us off the internet- newly signed on.

“What part of your body was the MRI on?”

Trump: no idea, but it wasn’t the brain!

90% probability MRI was on his brain.

Trump also says it’s ok to release it. Journalists, do your thing.
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

You can hear how carefully they’re forced to tiptoe around it. So chilling...

Medicare has negotiated lower prices for 15 new drugs, including Ozempic.

This comes despite Trump pushing to repeal the law that made this possible — the Inflation Reduction Act — and his Big Ugly Bill exempting other high-price drugs from negotiations altogether.

The amount of illegal this is is a lot.
SCOOP—In August, nearly 200 current/former FEMA staffers published the Katrina Declaration, a whistleblower letter detailing all the dangers posed by current leadership.

All current employees were put on indefinite leave, and now I've learned one has been fired in violation of federal protections:
FEMA employee terminated for signing whistleblower letter
It appears to be a major violation of federal whistleblower protections and constitutional rights.

It’s not compassionate when there’s coercion.

It’s not dignified when it’s offered in lieu of care.

Listen to disabled people.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.
