Scientist by nature. I dump science here, not concerned about views to my profile. Just like logging interesting things for later use.
Pinned
In my life, there is science, and then there are distractions from science. The former I maximise, the latter I do what is necessary for existence and having any adequate level of social skills and physical activity.
😂 nice one
Social media from a shark's perspective:

Facebook: I like eating seals

LinkedIn: My skills include catching seals

Yelp: This place serves pretty good seal

Pinterest: Here's my family seal recipe, it won't look as good when you make it

Twitter: Why do (((dolphins))) control the world?

"For 55 Cnc e, the correct period is 0.7365 days -- the shortest of any known planet -- and minimum mass is (8.3 +/- 0.3) Earth masses."

0.7365 days is alarmingly short!!

These soap films are area-minimizing surfaces: They take up the smallest area possible. Area-minimizing surfaces show up in the study of cells and black holes, and even in the design of biomolecules.

They made a small sample of berkelium in the US and they had to get it to Russia in order for the lab there to perform the required experiments to make tennessine. Apparently customs rejected its transport a few times because of insufficient paperwork

Fermi paradox - where are all the aliens? We haven't had contact with any

I honestly don't believe life is as common as some people think in the universe. And if life develops, it's even more unlikely to evolve far enough to form a hyperintelligent species that can do interstellar travel

The Pleiades are a beautiful starry sight all night. Given a clear crisp evening its brightest stars easily visible. I counted them all the other night. 🔭 🧪
