This is part of why I’m so caustic about ‘how to write’ advice. The usual ‘Write what you know!’ gets challenged by ‘Write what you want to know!’ and then … this.

Art, its processes and origins, is ferociously personal.

A case of mistaken fleece identity. While Tatty's fleece _has_ been washed, I'd forgotten that Viola's last fleece had been added to the box so what I'm currently combing is Vi's fleece (Cotswoldn x Lleyn). No wonder it looked so Cotswold-y

Onto the next phase of going from fleece to woven shawl: combing. There's a lot of wastage that comes from combing fleece but the combing waste will be used for other projects.

The joy of letter writing to those I love and cherish never grows old. I get the joy of using nice stationery, fountain pen and wax seals, writing on my antique writing slant box while arranging my thoughts to share with people I care out. I hope to always find joy in the writing of letters

A gorgeous afternoon out at the Painswick Rococo Gardens with gorgeous and magical friends @theowildcroft.bsky.social and @wendahazel.bsky.social. So many snowdrops heralding the first stirrings of Spring.

Such a sweet playful detail here from Pompeii (and some truly excellent alt text too! ❤️)
One of the details that makes me love the House of the Vettii in #Pompeii even more than I already do. Here, a decorative acanthus scroll serves as a platform for a panther to stalk some *very* nervous looking hippocampi! Will he risk getting wet? (open it up to see the whole thing) 😆 🐈 💦 🏺

I will actually post something that's not just #Inkvent2024 at some point but for now here's today's ink: Noble Fir is a green shimmer with gold overtones

Day 2 of #Inkvent2024: a lovely dusky pink called Wilted Rose (and a reminder I need to get new nibs for my dip pen after a splodge incident 🙄)

As a result of the Bodleian Folk archives being no longer available from today, I'd like to try to get an idea of how many of us use it, how, and how often. It's such a vital resource for so many of us. I've set up an email at hlfolkmusic@gmail.com for this so please do feed back

It's a bit soggy out there today! Hay given to the sheep, everyone checked, kit checked to make sure it's secured. Now back home to the dry and warm

I'm sure my little car is a TARDIS. Mine can fit two bales of hay in the back (and, if I really need it, one in the passenger seat) which is super useful when making sure the ovine overlords have the extra food they need. All done before Storm Bert went to full force in my neck of the woods. #sheep
