I'm English ... not an American.
I despair at the way that the human brain can shape information to reinforce its own prejudices.

To my mind there is no difference between Tommy Robinson types who fixate on the minority of asian paedos in the UK and those who fixate on a handful of offenders to deny the rights of all trans people.

Reform have miscalculated in Wales to a huge degree, by positioning themselves as an English Nationalist Party.

Yes. We have racist wankers in Wales, but our racist wankers hate the English more than anyone else.

Fucking spiv! A Labour Health Secretary sponsored by money from private healthcare ... the very definition of a career politician who has been shaped by Peter Mandelson ... supported sending arms to Israel in public while privately saying they were committing war crimes with them ... a dickhead!

You don't see many women who are billionaires do you?

That's not any kind of slight against women ... quite the opposite.

There is nothing useful to humanity about billionaireship ... they are parasites which suck resources from the rest of the population. They tend to be men!

I bloody hope so.
Wouldn't have got this response under McSweeney
Downing Street weighing in on Jim Ratcliffe's comments about immigration. A Number 10 spokesperson said “Jim Ratcliffe should immediately apologise. His offensive remarks are wrong and play into the hands of those who want to divide our country.”

Oh I see … my first day off and Richard Osmans House of Games has been been replaced by the 24hr coverage of “sliding around on ice in a mind-boggling amount of different ways as if that’s somehow important and not extremely silly”

Sigh!

I swear that all filthy rich old men get to a certain point where they finally realise that they’re mortal like the rest of us and that money doesn’t buy you happiness …

… and then they go stark raving bonkers lashing out at anyone they can like bitter old boozers in a pub.

The baffling thing journalists (especially BBC) just seem to let Labour get away with "he lied during vetting" when Mandelson's deep and repeated corruption is on his fucking Wikipedia page.

New Labour is dying with its architect. All his influence needs to be rooted out like dry rot.

It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious

Wes Streeting has admitted that Israel is committing war crimes.

In doing so, he has admitted that his government has broken the law.

The government is legally obliged not to sell combat aircraft components to states committing war crimes.

The British health secretary privately admitted last year that the Israeli government 'talks the language of ethnic cleansing'

Watching Wes Streeting absolutely shitting himself about Mandelson is absolutely delicious.

Well the last 72 hours has taught us that Keir Starmer has been nothing but a puppet Prime Minister, a vehicle that’s been driven by some weird very right-wing faction of Labour since the election.

If he gets himself a new moderate driver to shove their hand up his arse he might do quite well!

Brilliant! Full speed ahead to uber-woke, net-zero rejoinerism as soon as you can please!
Yes, god help we risk a floundering government that feels like no one is in charge.

Fuck me ... Peter Oborne has absolutely nailed this one from the moment Labour took power.

McSweeney ... an Irishman with nothing but disdain for the stupid bigoted English working classes (possibly justified) ... didn't care about using and manipulating their horrible prejudices for votes.

Starmer👎

"McSweeney’s core job is electoral strategy, and I suppose I can see the rationale in mopping up as many voters as possible regardless of how racist or bigoted they are. But Harold Wilson was onto something important when he said the Labour Party was a “moral crusade or it is nothing”."

If you think it's been raining a bit too much recently .... I heard on the radio today that in Aberdeen there hasn't been even 1 hour of sunlight in the last 37 days!!!

It certainly feels like that down here too.

A cheerful thought for a Sunday night: We're already 29% of the way through February; by the end of the month the UK will have an hour and forty minutes more daylight each day than it did at the start. Spring is coming x

Morgan McSweeney isn't an electoral genius ...

... an electoral genius would have realised that the result of the General Election was not a vote for Labour ... it was a vote for "NOT THE TORIES" and they would have compromised on policy accordingly.

Against a corrupt, exhausted, unlucky Government, which under-estimated the threat from Reform, trying for its fifth General Election in a row, Morgan McSweeney delivered 33.7% of the vote. And he then made Starmer the most unpopular PM ever. That's the measure of the man's 'genius'.
February 8, 2026 at 5:30 PM
Well I guess we’ll know more whether Labour putting out rhetoric and policy vilifying immigrants and asylum seekers was just Morgan McSweeney or if it goes deeper than that. Hmmm?

All eyes on Shabana Mahmood now … let’s see if her approach changes to one acceptable to a progressive party!
