Every time I see Lord Belzagar featured prominently like he's at all important, I'm like, "oh yeah, that dude's getting a Ring."
Sometimes I'm surprised when I see Pharazôn next to other characters. In my mind he's way shorter because of his Lord Farquaad energy

there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Míriel, the last faithful ruler of Númenor, & Elendil, heir to the Lord of Andúnië, would be anchors to each other maybe but Gil-Galad saw only one rise above the raging seas. How Elendil’s heart was torn into two is a lost tale to me.
