Bryan MacCormack, the executive director of a New York-based immigrant rights group, was pulled over by CBP with two undocumented passengers in the vehicle. He knew his rights, refused to acknowledge their "warrant", and despite CBP threatening him, the agents eventually were forced to let him go.

Sorry I’ve been radio silent for a while - the whole fam is nesting. The next generation arrives soon (our niece - when she is quite ready to), and in honor of the Kānaka victory over Captain Cook, today seemed as good a day as any to tell y’all I’m already very in love with her fiery NDN self. 😍

Colonization is, according to the oxford dictionary, the process of settling among and establishing control over the Indigenous people of an area. So decolonizing means unsettling, it means relinquishing control.

We’ve been hosting my spouse’s sisters in town from the rez this week and it’s been so nice to have home here with us in the city for a few days. They head back in a few hours and I’ve been thinking it may be time for us to move home again too, soon. It’s hard everywhere, but it’s harder away.

I love a good snow, especially in places like the city. You can never “urbanize” enough to completely control nature, and I find that incredibly comforting.

So my spouse and I watched the first episode of Echo this weekend in the Chahta anumpa dub and I am not ashamed to say I cried before we even started it. To have a Marvel show set on my rez is one thing, but in my Indigenous language? Life changing. Life changing. PLEASE watch it!
