2. Sentimentality is not art
3. The camera removed the goal of art being realistic looking & set it free
4. Art is honest authentic emotion - that’s why a great Rembrandt & your child’s drawing, for you, are equally important.

Guernica (1937) knocks Korea into a cocked hat! Why? Well his Korea is cerebral & draws on Picasso’s anti-war Communist politics. Guernica is his native Spain, his people, his homeland attacked. It’s authentic emotion - not logical exposition.

I hope those who are on the fence about going to #PACE25 make the leap today before the price goes up. I'm honored to be on faculty again this year. I hope to see some familiar faces and meet other plein air painters on the same path.
