At a church in Minneapolis that is hosting an anti-ICE singing vigil, which will later process through the neighborhood.

They sing: “This is for our neighbors who are locked inside, together we will abolish ICE.”

Nanopore sequencing of peptides, exciting possibilities ahead also for the microprotein field.
Latest #CDlab paper on nanopore protein sequencing now published in JACS: pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10....

Here, Justas Ritmejeris, Xiuqi Chen, collaborator Bauke Albada, and me developed a conjugation chemistry strategy for nanopore sequencing of natural peptides!

Greenland is part of Denmark (explicitly so regarding its foreign policy and defense).
Denmark is a full NATO member.

Will we (partner NATO countries with collective defense obligations under Article 5) come to military action to defend Greenland if it gets invaded by US military?

Hello World!

Testing crossposting a tweet on X, Bluesky, and LinkedIn.

I am using 'buffer.com' for this; does this work?
Any good/bad experiences with that, anyone?

End of the year gets me into a reflective mode…

Thinking about social media.

Years ago, twitter was very active, interactive, informative, fun. This has changed.

I recently surveyed Bluesky, X and LinkedIn.

Latest #CDlab paper out in Molecular Cell!

🚨New paper out! In our @MolCellNews paper, we solve a piece of the puzzle of how our genome folds. We found the two specific molecular "brakes" in the CTCF protein that stop DNA loop extrusion. One of the final pieces of my PhD!

Las 'The sparrow' van Mary Doria Russell, over Jezuïeten op een missiereis naar planeet bij Alpha Centauri waar buitenaards leven is ontdekt. Combinatie van een detective, SF, èn theologische discussies rond theodicee.
Boeiend verhaal. Top karakterontwikkeling. Gaaf boek!

Read Matthew Cobb's biography 'Crick'.
Great book, recommended!

Francis Crick was a staggering brilliant scientist who famously co-discovered the B-helix structure of DNA as well as lots of foundational molecular biology.

Las 'The Clowns of God' van Morris West. Interessant boek: een mix van een detective, machtspolitiek en gedachten over geloof en religie. Ik vond het inspirerend, maar het einde wat vervreemdend.
