👋🏼 quick intro:

Built my first site in 1995 and immediately fell in love the power to publish online. Stumbled into open source in 2011 (#WordPress)

Currently teaching #FrontEndDev at LinkedIn Learning, trying to keep my clients happy, and figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.

It's the last day of Open Enrollment for healthcare plans in the US. My monthly premium is 50% higher starting in January. That's cool. Cool cool.

Holiday Shopping #ProTip: If you have an Amazon Echo Show/Hub (or other device with a screen), scrub settings so that your unfinished cart, recently browsed items, or recently shipped items don't display right there for everyone to see. 🤦‍♀️ #SpoilerAlert #AskMeHowIKnow

It’s not just #LGBTQ, it’s suspended protections based on race and religion as well.

This is a city I grew up in and I’m ashamed of it.

No stops. No shops. No gas or food.

The Arlington, TX, city council voted last night to cave to Abbott’s hate and suspended protections for LGBTQ residents that were part of the anti-discrimination ordinance. Cowards.

Web UX question: When you see a drop-down menu, do you ever click the parent menu item expecting to go to a page or do you click just expecting it to open a submenu?

VS

- Parent menu item (https://#)

I've worked with a lot of talented designers that come from a traditional media/print background and struggle to adjust to web.

I'm starting a vinyl collection and want to buy a turntable. I'm not sure whether I want to connect to bluetooth or go with a wired speaker, but I want it to *sound* like vinyl and not just another digital track.

Important: I value minimalism.

An Interactive Guide to CSS Grid • Josh W. Comeau
CSS Grid is an incredibly powerful tool for building layouts on the web, but like all powerful tools, there's a significant learning curve. In this tutorial, we'll build a mental model for how CSS Gri...

I've used Clarity.fm for years as a pay-by-the-minute consulting platform, but the service is meh. Phone call quality is consistently poor and there's no online meeting option (gimme some screen share ability!).

I don't do a ton of these calls, but I need a better solution. What do you use?
