Yeah my Draw Steel addiction won out in the end. LISTEN IT'S JUST GOOD. And if you wanna see how good while surviving a siege from a floating city, demon swarms, and a BBEG called The Iron Saint, I got a game for you.

Blackbottom will fall. That is inevitable. The question remains: what would you do to ensure your own survival? And who can you possibly save?

This is one of the hardest truths going through law school. Legal solutions in an unjust system are at best harm reduction, and at worst, placebos.

Perfect Blue (1997). Key art of Mima Kirigoe by Satoshi Kon. The style blurs the lines between reality and illusion, which is a central theme of the film.

You've probably already seen it and sorry I can't/won't get back to every single tag, but I was among those that spoke to Edmond about the nature of concept art and the influence of AI

Thank you so much again @edmondtran.bsky.social for the opportunity and giving us a voice

(yes that is Fritz)
We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

It is so disappointing to see the description of AI use in pre-production things like concept art and placeholder text as no problem. That's where you have the most freedom to get WEIRD. If your creative starting point is just regurgitated leftovers, how is the end product supposed to stand out?
NEW: I spoke to Larian boss Swen Vincke about their ambitions for their new RPG Divinity, cutting down development time, pressures from Baldur's Gate 3, why BG3 wouldn't have happened without Tencent, how Larian uses generative AI, and much more www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Using genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

I'm pulling together more professional games for the new year, but I'm always just hit with how many games I want to run. My list right now is: Mothership; Alien; Heart; Spire; or just more Draw Steel.

I can not overstate how much I am enjoying Draw Steel.

Still having some D&D feelings - I appreciate the cleaner layout for adventures and having a thematic understanding of what an adventure is doing (location based adventure vs a faction based adventure). I think that's a great way to think about them!

I haven't picked up D&D stuff in a bit because I've been busy with other ttrpgs, but wow uh I really don't know how I feel about digital only supplements available only in the walled garden of D&D beyond.
