I swear, I can tell there’s a major news story the administration doesn’t want me paying attention to when my TikTok FYP is exclusively videos over a week old. Everything it’s showing me is from August.

You have more in common with the average Iranian citizen than you do with the people that run this country

As if the people of Iran haven’t been through enough. This is wrong. A president cannot be allowed to unilaterally enter us into a war.

Gen Z I love you. As a generation you are so good at so many things. But PLEASE for the love of god, stop using chat gpt to fact check. You need to be fact checking it, not the other way around. Ok love you bye

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

Not surprisingly, Trump’s overall tax and tariff proposals would make the very rich much richer and working families poorer.

If you earn less than $360,000 a year, your taxes are going to go way up.

If you’re in the top 1%? Don’t worry. You’ll save big.

Do you know why Americans are angry?

Over the last 50 years, real weekly wages have been stagnant.

At the same time, there was a $79 trillion transfer of wealth from the bottom 90% to the to the top 1%.

We need an economy that works for all, not just billionaires.

Rules for the Senate Dems to remove leaders, for those that are bored:

Just 10 members (20% of the Senate Dem Conference) can call for a meeting of the conference to vote on whether and who shall replace Schumer as Conference Chair and Democratic Leader.

i honestly have never seen a political leader so thoroughly destroy their credibility so quickly and, on the other side, it is abundantly clear that if anyone can claim a genuine leadership of large parts of the democratic party, it is AOC.
Folks is it good when your own party's leadership in the House is dropping "listen to the women" and MLK quotes on you while swing state members of your caucus are talking about new leadership

Chuck Schumer managed to piss off everyone from AOC to Adam Kinzinger with his fecklessness- all while still having no plan, no strategy, except to roll over and give Trump what he wants. Active refusal to do his job as the leader of the opposition party in the senate. Bizarre behaviour.

Yes a shutdown would have consequences.

And a Republican President, Republican House, and Republican Senate would be responsible.

They have acted in a unilateral and unprecedented way.

Democrats cannot cave. They must fight back.

Extraordinary moment — Nancy Pelosi issues a statement calling on Democratic senators to reject the House funding bill, i.e. to defy Chuck Schumer.

"Democratic senators should listen to the women," she says, referring to Murray/DeLauro who want a 1-month stopgap bill instead.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!

So to be clear, according to Chuck Schumer, the filibuster is always a sufficient impediment to block Democrats from doing things while in the majority.

Yet it is never a sufficient impediment for Democrats to block Republicans from doing things when in the minority.

Funny.

We are supposed to be a democracy.

Elected officials are supposed to listen to the vast majority of the American people when they say:

NO tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy

NO cuts to Medicaid

NO more billionaires buying elections

@mcbride.house.gov’s “madam chairman” was perfect. I’m glad Rep. Keating stood up for her, but upset that the hearing was derailed. Rep. McBride had something to say and had the floor, the Republicans successfully used dehumanization of her as a distraction from the issues they were there to discuss
