Donald Trump loves to own things and stick his name on them. Well, now he owns the American health care system. Millions losing coverage. Americans paying more for insurance. Everyone having to drive longer and wait more time for care. That is Trumpcare.
I'm wishing all in Delaware who are celebrating today a blessed Kwanzaa, centered on culture, family, and community. May this time be one of reflection, unity, and hope.

1/ Wishing the First State a Merry Christmas, surrounded by loved ones and filled with joy and renewed hope. As we come together this season, we also hold in our hearts those missing from our gatherings this year—family, friends, neighbors, and those who serve our communities.

1/ Every day, Delaware law enforcement puts their lives on the line — a fact that this senseless act of violence tragically reinforces. My prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of the State Trooper killed while defending Delawareans today at the DMV.

I have been briefed on the tragic shooting at the Wilmington DMV. I am praying for all of those impacted, including our brave law enforcement officers. I continue to be in touch with state officials as we all gain more information.

1/ Delawareans are already feeling the effects of Trumpcare. Dave wrote to my office to share that without an extension of the ACA tax credits, his wife—who suffers from multiple ailments—and he will see their premium jump to $1,200 a month and will lose their coverage.

@mcbride.house.gov is right. It’s hard enough being a kid — and politicians don’t need to make it harder.

Thank you, Congresswoman, for speaking out against the cruel Republican attacks on health care for trans youth.
December 17, 2025 at 8:40 PM
I was a kid once. And my biggest regret in life is that I never got a childhood without pain.

Politicians should never insert themselves into the personal health care decisions of patients, parents, and their providers—and that includes trans Americans.

A discharge petition to force a House floor vote to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits now has majority support in the House of Representatives. That means Speaker Johnson must allow a vote to protect Americans’ health care. Congress should not leave for the holidays without voting on this.

1/ I was glad to join the Delaware Farm Bureau for its 81st Annual Banquet in Dover, where we celebrated Delaware’s farmers and agricultural sector.

As people around the world join together to mark the first night of Hanukkah, I’m wishing everyone celebrating in Delaware and beyond eight nights filled with peace, light, and joy.
December 14, 2025 at 9:00 PM
On the first night of Hanukkah, terrorists in Australia murdered Jewish families in a blatant antisemitic attack.

My prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. May their memories be a blessing.

1/ No one should fear for their lives going off to school.

My heart breaks for the victims and their families, and the entire Brown University community, in the wake of this horrific shooting.

Imagine winning both chambers of Congress and the White House, only to spend all your political capital on kicking millions of people off their health care and jacking up prices for everyone else. Delawareans—and the American people—deserve so much better.

1/ The Trump administration’s push to dismantle the Dept. of Ed is an outright attack on public schools. In Delaware, $530 million in federal funding supports over 1,100 teachers—removing it would mean students without teachers, schools without support, and communities left behind.

1/ Delaware Paid Leave is coming soon! Whether you are expecting a child, caring for a family member, or managing a chronic health issue, we want to hear what this program will mean for you and your family.

Standing in front of a sign that says affordability doesn’t change the fact that Donald Trump and congressional Republicans have no plan to tackle the affordability crisis—because they refuse to even admit it exists.
December 11, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Let’s be clear: Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress created this health care affordability crisis. So what they’re doing now is like an arsonist lighting a house on fire and then showing up with a garden hose—it doesn’t fix anything, and it makes an even bigger mess.

1/ Delaware families are being squeezed from every direction—not just by inflation, but by Trump Administration policies pouring fuel on the fire. My constituents who are facing rising costs at the grocery store and risk losing their health care coverage know affordability is not a hoax.

1/ I joined @coons.senate.gov, @bluntrochester.senate.gov, & leaders from Beebe Healthcare to cut the ribbon on their new Mobile Health fleet, which will bring essential services to our neighbors across Sussex County—and with it, the hope and dignity that come from quality, community-centered care.

I had to make sure everyone on Capitol Hill knew what today is—Delaware Day, the annual celebration of Delaware becoming the First (and objectively best) state in the Union. You’re welcome, America. #YouWishYouWereFirst

On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the servicemembers and civilians who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor. December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—reminds us of their profound sacrifice and calls us to work toward a future defined not by conflict, but by peace.

1/ Delawareans lost more than $34 million to scams last year—and it's only getting worse.
December 3, 2025 at 10:25 PM
1/ Delaware was on repeat for me this year. From the bills we introduced to make life more affordable for our neighbors to solving issues with federal agencies for Delawareans, this work is powered by your courage, your voices, and—of course—lots of coffee.

We must have a health care system that puts people over profits, but to get there, we need real people—patients, caregivers, and providers—driving the conversation, not insurance companies, big pharma, or health care conglomerates.
December 3, 2025 at 2:56 PM
1/ Every step of the way, congressional Republicans have tried to sabotage the Affordable Care Act and make health care more unaffordable and inaccessible.
