The budget passed—but not with my vote. I won’t support a Republican agenda built on cruelty and corruption—and that’s exactly what this budget was. I’ll keep fighting to protect and expand health care for every Delawarean and every American.

Donald Trump loves to own things and stick his name on them. Well, now he owns the American health care system. Millions losing coverage. Americans paying more for insurance. Everyone having to drive longer and wait more time for care. That is Trumpcare.

It's simple: Donald Trump only cares about himself, his ballroom, and his billionaire buddies. And he certainly doesn’t care about you.

The only thing congressional Republicans are more loyal to than Donald Trump is cutting Americans’ health care.

Millions face skyrocketing premiums. The largest Medicaid cut in U.S. history looms. Rural hospitals will close. Doctors’ offices will shutter.

I’m voting no on this budget bill.

It’s official—this is the longest shutdown in American history. Republicans in Congress need to come to the negotiating table and tackle the real problems Americans are facing—the cost of living, skyrocketing health care premiums, and an administration that’s focused on bathrooms and ballrooms.

If the Republican Party is truly pro-family, they would join Democrats in demanding that the Trump administration use its legal authority to fully fund SNAP benefits for the more than 42 million Americans—and over 100,000 Delawareans—who rely on them.

I’ve heard from so many Delawareans throughout this shutdown—whether they’re federal workers, health care providers, or working parents—and the message is clear: people are worried about how rising health care premiums will impact their families and neighbors.
