Even just trying to avoid it as an ethical participant in higher education is taking work, time, and professional risks, all of which are worth it not to contribute to this very real problem, but are a real waste.
“While the AI industry claims its models can “think,” “reason,” and “learn,” their supposed achievements rest on marketing hype and stolen intellectual labor. In reality, AI erodes academic freedom, weakens critical reading, and subordinates the pursuit of knowledge to corporate interests.”

Outstanding piece-please take the time to read it. So many points to quote, this one seems helpful for White America to understand exactly how we got here:

“Authoritarianism is as American as slavery, as internment camps, as police brutality, as voter suppression.”

3/ Same thing for the Health Equity EP members

Which is pretty shitty given the context in which folks trying to advance health justice & ethics are working rn

Not to have a home base with fellow health equity experts who can provide support/mentor

Yes it’s everybody’s job but
Now there’s no EP

This is collaborating. This is shit in line with Aktion T4.

It's evil.
This is absolutely devastating - the NIH hospital called ICE about a patient on a patient seeking care.

Sadly, this is, yet, one of countless examples of health care settings being extensions of the carceral state.

As health care workers, it our duty to do no harm, to protect our patients.
