But it isn't banned here.

I’m so excited… look what’s arrived! Two copies of @regretteruane.bsky.social’s second novel.

I loved ‘This Is Yesterday’ and was buying ‘Birding’ for my friend Tracey (she too loved TIY) - and realised I had completely failed to buy and read it myself!

Am I a bad person?

I have SO much time for lawyers and the law.

Note to self: must publish my undergraduate dissertation

‘The Law as a Tool of Political Change’

(although as it featured Keir Starmer it might need a rewrite…)

I have just discovered there is a thing called #portfolioday

Unfortunately no-one seems to agree on which date it is.

Just in case it is today, here is Davey Kirk, the male protagonist in my #WIP The Scottish Exiles

Book banners LOVE to say they just want pornography out of school libraries.

They're lying.

And we have the receipts.

Great article! If you're collecting info on more ethical academic journals, the independent Journal of Popular Romance Studies @jprstudies.bsky.social (for which I am the current managing editor) has been open access with no fees since 2009 and is indexed in Scopus/Scimago. www.jprstudies.org

One thing I've realized recently on here is that a lot of people don't know what alt text is or why it matters. I get the sense more folks would use it if they understood it. So, for those who don't know, here's a brief guide with some good tips.
Write helpful Alt Text to describe images | Digital Accessibility
Alternative (Alt) Text is an essential part of making content accessible. When adding images, charts, icons or other graphic elements, alt text should be added to ensure your content will be accessibl...

Looking forward to this…

… but my hunch is it is not actually a sequel to Wild Swans, and that this was a slip of the screenshot

Don’t forget

‘They came for the low-income self employed’

- many of whom are growing their food, driving their taxis, delivering their parcels, minding their children, and caring for their older relatives
First they came for children, with the 2-child benefit cap.
Next they came for pensioners, with the removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance.
Now they're coming for those with disabilities.

I wonder how socialist Labour voters feel now.

I tend to think of it as two concentric ellipses, but nonetheless it is up there with my favourite underground systems, not least because I normally manage not to get lost
I don't care what you think, the Glasgow subway is perfection.

(Also before any 'well, actually' people arrive. I am well aware that Glasgow is a much smaller city than the others.)

Scotland: always progressive
Having reported on this since it was first proposed a decade ago, it is an extraordinary thing to see it finally happening next Monday...

Hugh Grant
Carol Vorderman
Mariella Frostrup
Feargal Sharkey
Chris Packham

So glad I don't live in England. Starmer's "change" looks to not only be freezing pensioners to death but to denying them their medicines if they can't afford to pay for them:
In England, almost all working-age adults pay for prescriptions. The Labour Party is considering going further and charging over-60s too.
The SNP firmly believes that healthcare should be free at the point of use for everyone and abolished prescription charges for everyone in Scotland in 2011
