If Starmer is so convinced that Trump’s playbook in Venezuela is legal and has desirable outcomes how about he sends the SAS into Mar-a-Lago and does the world a favour by recolonising the USA until it’s capable of managing its own affairs. I mean independence only just predates the Monroe Doctrine…

I found it hard to fathom a Labour govt supported American action for regime change in Iraq in 2003. Less so that Cameron supported the same in Iraq. But that another Lab govt 23 yrs on supports regime change instigated by the US without UN approval is truly shocking esp. when POTUS is a lunatic

And Trump thinks he’s entitled to a Nobel Peace Prize.

Extraordinary
Trump is the first US president to bomb 7 countries in one year.

Based on verified reports from Al Jazeera, Fox News, Washington Examiner, and CBC, the seven countries targeted by US strikes under Trump in 2025 are: Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Syria, Nigeria, and Venezuela.

Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.

The crazy thing about America is that they could have elected this guy 10 years ago and saved the world a LOT of pain.

The American Constitution only works if Congress and the Courts enforce it. If they don’t then the Constitution itself makes it lawful for citizens to organize as militia to bear arms in order to provide a “strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers".

Imperialism is back. The Monroe Doctrine has been dusted down and repurposed not to prevent the colonialism of the kingdoms of Europe but to enable the colonialism of King Don of America with Europe’s acquiescence. It stinks.

So, in a nutshell, Starmer endorses Trump’s actions and accepts the outcome. We have a PM who approves of forced regime change as a foreign policy.
The Prime Minister has issued a statement on Venezuela. He called Maduro an "illegitimate president", reiterated UK support for international law and said the UK would be working to "seek a safe and peaceful transition to a legitimate government that reflects the will of the Venezuelan people"

You just know Trump is going to have his “Berlin Olympics 1936” moment this summer with the FIFA World Cup. Who will be modern day Jesse Owen that ruins it for him?

What Trump has done to Venezuela today is no different to what Putin tried to do to Ukraine in 2022. The US military chiefs, officers and ranks who followed his/Hegseth’s orders are as guilty as the generals whose defence at Nuremberg was “we were only following orders”.

Imperialism vs democracy. Hard to believe the United States of America is in the imperialist camp alongside China and Russia.
"These are the iron laws that have always determined global power."

A rare honest moment there from President Trump.

So does our Prime Minister believe in international law or the law of the jungle?

That's the choice here in opposing or supporting imperialism.

Is it time to start boycotting big American companies in response to Trump’s illegal actions? Amazon, Apple, CocaCola, Disney, Google, Microsoft, Netflix, Starbucks, Warner? I’ll freely admit I use all of them and it would be hard to do - is there even an alternative to Apple/Android for mobile OS?
