My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it

I actually can’t bring myself to keep up with the never ending attack on trans people in this country any longer. it’s taking years off my life.

Capitalism is ruining football. The NFL could fix most bad officiating by making refs full-time employees with real salaries — more film study + more rule study = fewer blown calls.
But the league would rather save pennies than improve the product. Pay the refs so we can fire the bad ones.
