I'm seeing people wonder why ICE is going after Charlotte.

ICE has been at war with Charlotte's sheriff ever since he won in 2018.

We'd covered this at Bolts back in the day; this quote is from that sheriff:
“When the 8 African American sheriffs took over the largest counties in North Carolina, it became a threat to the good ol’ boy system,” says the sheriff of Charlotte. These new sheriffs broke ties with ICE.

But GOP lawmakers cracked down this week, overbidding the governor’s veto to adopt this law:
North Carolina GOP Is Cracking Down on the Black Sheriffs Who Stood Up to ICE
Boosted by new supermajorities, Republicans are closing in on legislation to mandate more collaboration with ICE and preempt local policies hard-won by immigrants’ rights advocates.

Either this is an example of celebs considered a good source for political insights is... a mistake...
Or Mr Voight is f#cking nuts.

Personally I think both statements are true.
Actor Jon Voight calls on Trump to “terminate immediately” the mayoralty of Mamdani because he’s going to turn NYC into “a forbidden place of darkness” and a “refugee shelter for the radical Muslim ideology.”

Epstein assaulted Maria Farmer and her sister Annie. Kidnapped her. Threatened her life (via Ghislaine Maxwell). Maria reported this to the FBI, which did nothing, to Vanity Fair magazine, which didn’t print the information as a favor to Epstein.

Now she has contacted writer Ellie Leonard:
A Suddenly Truer Story of Maria Farmer
Two weeks ago a soft voice reached out to me, interested in my writing, but with a bigger story to tell than I ever could.

Michael Wolff sat on Epstein info like many in media do—silence buys future interviews, access, and book deals. The elite protect each other until it’s profitable to expose. Journalism turned into gossip currency, and truth only drops when it benefits their careers, not the victims.
Hey so it's also extremely weird that "journalist" Michael Wolff was giving Jeffrey Epstein advice on how to handle his pedophilia PR

The official investigation into the January 6 riots concluded Trump “summoned the mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack" in an effort to halt the peaceful transfer of power.

No billion dollar lawsuit can change reality.

The BBC should call this convicted criminal’s bluff.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”
