See? This is a good political response to what happened (if you must). Acknowledge, but make sure you get in something about how the right is constantly fomenting violence.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

Last week, Black community members at the University of Michigan shared their stories. A long thread, because there were a lot of them, and they can make you weep.

Let’s talk a bit about what you, an average German newspaper reader in 1933, would have learned about Hitler’s rise to power. Let’s assume you read the “Vossische Zeitung”, a comparatively liberal middle-class newspaper. In modern times, the Berlin State Library library let’s you read it online: 1/

Once upon a time I only listened to 7 or 8 podcasts
I've also realized that out of the 7 or 8 podcasts I listen to, only one is male run.

“Trump waited to make sure that Bezos did what he said he was going to do, and then met with the Blue Origin people,” he said on Saturday. “Which tells us that there was an actual deal made."

Feeling my sanity slipping away as more and more (genuinely awful) stories about what Trump said or did accrues. Because:

HE PLOTTED AND ATTEMPTED TO EXECUTE A VIOLENT COUP ON LIVE TV! HE ATTMEPTED TO END THE REPUBLIC! HE'S THE BIGGEST TRAITOR TO THE CONSITUTIONAL ORDER SINCE THE CONFEDERACY!

It says a lot about us as people if we immediately jump to fatness, gender & racial slurs, or queer hate when someone is evil.

Because the subtext of what we are saying is that we think those traits are worth disparaging, just not if we like you personally.

Trump is evil, but not because he's fat.

With Goodreads doing away with the Middle Grade category in this year’s awards roundup, a lot of great MG titles won’t get that extra boost a massive platform like that provides.

So. These are the MG books I read and loved this year. Go check them and the authors out. ❤️
