Genuine question: why don’t I like scrolling reels/TikTok/short-form video? I know it’s supposed to be addicting and people end up doing it for hours. I get that it‘s cleverly designed and algorithmed. But I never found it appealing at all. I’m generally just annoyed by SFVs; at best I might …

I just finished reading The Murder of Professor Schlick by David Edmonds. Thinking today about the effects of Nazism on the Vienna Circle, how and why some of them saw what was coming and others didn‘t. Thinking today (again) about my own contingency plans to move continents if and when necessary.
