Fast flowing green grey bubbly water rushes through a crevice in some dark brown flattish rock slabs A small wave washes in over pebbles. Trees and rocks are silhouetted on the far left and in the distance are the dark greenish elongated landmass of Keats Island then the blue-grey mainland beyond. A rock, half-covered in seaweed, protrudes from flat calm water with a few ripples. A couple of smaller rocks are similarly positioned. Under the water, a layer of colourful pebbles and rocks can be seen, as the water is perfectly clear. In the distance to the left, tall evergreens line the shore. A handsome brown deer with small antlers and a white nose stands proudly, regarding the camera, near the wide textured trunk of a Western Red Cedar tree. Orange autumn leaves carpet the ground and behind the deer the light shines through yellow and green trees.

The Mousetrap at Granville Island Stage last night. I saw it years ago in its long-running incarnation at St Martin’s Theatre in London (continuous from 1952 until Covid forced it closed), but I had forgotten lots of it.

10/10 would forget #whodunnit and go again!

I’m going to the theatre tonight to see The Mousetrap (Agatha Christie is the GOAT and I will not be taking questions at this time) but first a self-toast in the mirror because (a) strawberry cocktail, (b) joy is still possible despite everything, (c) etc.

This pupper buried her ball at Spanish Banks today so thoroughly that I nearly gave up searching and left it for the next diggity dog to find.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! Here's a snap from Grandview Park earlier today, where Robin and other Haida singers/drummers were getting people dancing. They will also be appearing later today at Carnegie Community Centre around 4pm.
