I am someone who has cut of contact with my parents, and I know a lot of others, and most of us tried for years to fix the issues that led to that decision, and it was and continues to be a painful choice. No one cuts off their parents for no reason. That just is NOT happening.
This has been a quietly simmering right-wing panic for a few years now, the alleged "epidemic" of children cutting off their parents.

There's no evidence for this phenomenon whatsoever, much less the bizarre "SJW therapy-speak" explanation they always reach for.
what the fucking fuck

Just so we’re clear:
1. Audiobooks count
2. Reading is political
3. The orange man is a piece of 💩

a reminder for today:

you don’t have to pretend any of this is normal. fuck trump, fuck everything he stands for, fuck the fact that the democrats failed us, fuck the fact that the world is burning. all we have is each other - lean into community, keep fighting, and stay angry

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and public services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend any money is so important to so many people

two things I love are horror movies and terrible Hallmark Christmas movies and if they have one thing in common, it’s the trope of “terrible boyfriend gets what he deserves in the end”

StoryGraph rocks, highly recommend
Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️

The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion.
When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!
