#Veganism is not a health brand. It is not a diet trend. It is not a wellness aesthetic that rises or falls based on ingredient lists. Veganism is an ethical position rooted in a single, non-negotiable claim: animals are not ours to use. Everything else is secondary.
I remember Rosa DeLauro at the beginning of her career; she wasn't wildly progressive but she certainly seemed to have those leanings. Now she's just another centrist, out of touch with the times and her constituents, clinging to power as they do
I suspect there are a lot of House Democrats in their 70s or 80s who think they're going to coast back into a comfortable leadership position by keeping their head down and riding the blue wave, but they're going to have to navigate these kinds of challenges first and most are not ready at all.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
