It's less than 24 hours after 5-8 million Americans marched against a president who called them domestic terrorists, and there is zero reference to it on the current NYT home page, except for a Bouie op/ed that came out several days earlier.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

A preliminary budget draft leaked to the Washington Post outlines plans by the Trump administration to cut:

- the NIH budget by 40%
- the CDC budget by 44%
- the HHS budget by 33%

This will not make America healthy. It will make Americans sicker and more vulnerable to disease outbreaks.

Rutte: "Yes, absolutely. This was the result of the Washington Summit: Ukraine's path to NATO is irreversible. And nothing has changed."

and this is before we get to new Medicaid cuts or axing grants

As always with maga, their accusations of illegal behavior by the so-called Biden crime family is both projection and confession.

Live long enough and the so-called Arc towards Justice seems to be for another time. We are currently existing in a country that is ruled by an organized crime syndicate. Every Congressional vote, every Congressional stock purchase is being committed by members of this syndicate.

all that is necessary for evil to succeed is for (good people to do nothing-scratch that), collaborators to suck up to monsters for the opportunity to debase themselves further
regarding Columbia University, I just learned about this (anonymous) account of negotiations of the Hitler regime in the 1930s with Frankfurt University -- Germany's most prestigious university at the time:

And here we go -- Fox News is now saying we should get rid of "due process" because it's too cumbersome.

Brian Kilmeade: "But I also think it's not practical to think that we can do due process on 8 million people."

Why can't all those people they don't like or disapprove of just be polite and accept it?
what you see covering the Supreme Court are these people using the most strained readings of their religious texts as an anti-social cudgel against the rest of the population and their absolutely angry that no one thanks them for what they've done
conservative evangelicals spent a quarter century explicitly tying their religious identity to the most extreme and jingoistic forms of american nationalism up to and including embracing one of the worst degenerates this country has ever produced and they refuse to take responsibility for it
