I’m a court-appointed attorney who primarily works with families in the foster care system and houseless folks mostly accruing charges for essentially existing while houseless. Access to services, treatment, and resources that most of us take for granted makes all the difference for my clients💙

lol just had back to back appointments with some houseless clients. One is schizophrenic and was yelling in a fake French accent about how she is in the mafia and she will kill again. The other guy started praying for her salvation and she said he was a cop and needed to quit harassing her😅

I have a houseless muni court client who I see pretty regularly on various existing-while-houseless type charges and today for her in-custody hearing, there was a substitute judge and she was like “WHO ARE YOU?! I’ve never seen you before!” But after he introduced himself she said she loves him lol

I never knew Michael Crichton was 6’9”! My husband is 6’10” and he’s in a metal band—it is always funny to watch fans meet him and see their faces when they realize how tall he is😂💙 I bet it’s similar when Michael Crichton is at cons and his fans see him.

Yaaaasss! My 2 week trial that was supposed to start Monday is resolved which means I can spend the next few weeks catching up on review / scheduling for all of my other matters and I don’t need to do it in crunch time. I’m redoing my December calendar rn and it’s beautiful 😻

So yesterday I had 2 seizures, got diagnosed with a heart problem (that sounds like it will be lifelong), and I lost my cat (but found him after hours of looking in the dark mud). I also had some good meetings for work and had a nice lunch with a friend but the day was so fucking exhausting.

Being on new meds for my epilepsy has been pretty good but any of the few times I have either missed the meds or taken them too far off schedule, I inevitably seize and it’s really frustrating. I fell off schedule yesterday (but still took them) and I had 2 petits in 8 hours😩

I was remotely attending a hearing today that started over an hour late. My cat Gregg was very bored listening to all those hearings before ours.
