Theologian and traveler. Living in KS, from NY. AuDHD is my co-pilot. DOC Minister, preacher, and adjunct professor.
I have two churches I pastor. My larger church has both our regular pianist and our backup out of town, and my smaller church organist agreed to cover for them. What a gracious gift for her to share with a community not her own.

One of the things I am most grateful for at the Festival of Homiletics is that it reminds me as an American and Christian and minister that I am not insane to see and name the injustice around me. Praise God. #FOH2025

We had 80+ at our mid-sized town in West KS peaceful protest. Very grateful for those who came, with blankets, camp chairs, signs, and hot hands to share our belief in the America we want to see and to reject authoritarianism.

Actively weeping over Pope Francis' Ash Wednesday homily. Such unflinching bravery in the face of his own mortality and such an exhorting and gentle word for each of us.

Ramadan Kareem! ☪️ This is the start of a sacred month of generosity, prayer, and repentance for Muslims. If you don't know much about their faith, now is a good time to learn. Religious literacy is essential to good community building.

My denomination's region gave out these perfectly sized lined notepads at our regional gathering last summer and I just emailed the office manager and she said she would send me more !!!! I get five of the perfect to-do list and I am beyond thrilled.

Preaching on Psalm 81 this week and one of the sites I use for commentary/reflection calls this psalm "The Economic Consequences of National Wrongdoing." 💀💀 Shoutout to that guy who left my church a few weeks ago because I acknowledged the political circumstances, probably the right call for you.

As LMM said, dying is easy, young man, living is harder. (Read: big dramatic actions appeal to us and feel more significant, but small consistent daily actions are as much or more powerful in the long run. Are you seeking to be a martyr, or are you seeking to be a team player?)
