Incredibly sad about Vince Zampella. I spent an extraordinary part of my career with Vince and this is a terrible ending to his life. One time my wife and I were on vacation in London and he was down south, so he invited us to join him and we got to play with tanks.

Having a save-anywhere save/load system and a bug reporter that uploads save files to the cloud is like a cheat code for game development. I was able to load a save file from July to confirm that a change I made today wouldn't break the thing from 5 months ago.

Listen, maybe it’s because I’m playing it 9 years later, but DOOM 2016 isn’t that great. Yes, it reinterpreted Doom for modern audiences, but along all the other games, it’s a standard by the books shooter that gets by on its style rather than substance.

The first was horrifically complicated. The second was slightly less complicated but temperamental. The third was Night Lords adjacent.

If movie theaters were a thing consumers loved, they would be there. They go there for horror movies, some action blockbusters.
