see also: valve probably doesn't quite know how much the steam machine has to cost not to lose money on it when it launches (almost like we just saw multiple companies including lenovo and asus delay and stutter-launch gaming handhelds because of component pricing/tariffs, weird).

i'm going to be honest, i think there were conversations happening inside valve that this wasn't going to make Q1 *while press was there for the reveal event.* and if there weren't people at valve saying "guys i think we've got a problem" then they're not serious about hardware.

the last time i installed windows it was for the 9950x3D launch, and used i devhome to batch install apps, which was amazing (if a little finicky), but MS killed winhome, so now I'm diving straight into winget for a fresh install (i figure after 40+ GPU installs, it's probably time).

my switch 2 concerns aren't around hardware numbers, which are honestly great, even if they're only just hitting their targets. i'm unsure how the company is feeling about the attach rate, which is sitting around 2.2 games per console sold. coming out of the holiday, that seems soft to me.

good drive, good warranty, closest to a reasonable price you're likely to see for a long time (and it supports hardware encryption, which is absent from a lot of the competition).

I don’t know that normal or even very online people have fully internalized that modern oligarchs and billionaires will never have “enough” money in large part because they think there’s a chance they’ll never have to die, or will at least live for another hundred years.

this is a decent price for an ok performing drive, but the TBW rating on the P series drives are kind of awful (220 terabytes written for the 1TB drives which is a third of better options and pretty easy to hit if you download a lot of games).

no fan of jeffries, but holy shit is this article misleading. in the press briefing he calls for "a prohibition that DHS cannot *detain* or deport American citizens", and his focus throughout the briefing is on the detainment part
