Sweden’s navy says armed guards are appearing on Russia’s ‘shadow fleet’ vessels
Uniformed service members and armed men - believed to be private security contractors — have been spotted on tankers carrying oil from Russia, Marko Petkovic, the head of operations for the Swedish Navy, said on the Swedish broadcaster SVT Nyheter . As noted by the Danish outlet Berlingske Media , this is the first time an EU country has officially confirmed the presence of armed guards on vessels in Russia’s “shadow fleet.” According to Petkovic, Russia has generally stepped up its military footprint in the Baltic Sea. “The Russian naval presence has become more constant and visible across much of the Baltic Sea.” The Russian navy periodically operates in various zones in the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland and appears to be supporting this “shadow fleet” in some way, the Swedish Navy representative said. SVT’s sources in the Swedish military confirmed that Russian warships are “fairly constantly present” in several specific areas adjacent to shipping lanes. Danish media have reported on guards aboard the “shadow fleet” Danish outlets had previously written about the emergence of guards on Russian “shadow fleet” ships. On December 6, the investigative outlet DanWatch reported that people in camouflage uniforms were on board one of the “shadow fleet” tankers in the Øresund strait, including one former special forces commander from Kaliningrad. The outlet said this is corroborated by data from a leaked Russian government database that Danwatch obtained through sources in Russia. According to crew documents reviewed by the outlet, these individuals had no official duties on the ship. They were listed as “additional crew” without any explanation.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

AP on Trump now, and Biden in June 2022.

For Trump, declining to 36 percent approval is “good news.”

For Biden, holding steady at 41% is “a source of concern.”

i would welcome this because i'm in a region so isolated that Amazon farms out all its deliveries to USPS, and the mail carrier is so afraid of actually doing work to get paid that he has declared any moderately steep driveway on his route is impassible. if it don't fit in the mailbox i'm SOL.
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.

The Supreme Court majority has decided that they are the fact-finders, and the facts are what they want them to be, and quite frankly if District Courts disagree, they can pound sand because they're not the ones in charge.

They're right about the last part. But the damage they're doing is longterm.
