Baker & Taylor appears to be shutting down. A post on the r/libraries subreddit from an employee of B&T breaks the news and there appear to be other employees in the comments confirming the situation.

The determination of rich famous Americans to create a society of bitter resentful people armed with weapons that can kill from long distance is

stunningly dumb

3yrs ago, Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Izyum and found mass graves of 447 people. Most of the murdered were civilians — 215 women, 194 men and 5 children. 22 were servicemen, 11 bodies couldn't be identified.

Many bodies had signs of violent death.

The occupation lasted less than half a year.

The idiotic “progressive” mindset that every violent mental patient should be left to sleep on the streets and/or terrorize their families is hypocritical and sick.

There’s a percentage of people who must be isolated from society.

Our previous asylum system sucked, maybe we can build a better one.

Decarlos Brown was a disturbed, violent man who assaulted his own sister on top of his many crimes.

He displayed psychotic behavior earlier this year.

He should not have been free to murder Iryna Zarutska.

No way Brown’s family had resources to care for him. Few families do.

We need asylums.

There are plenty of unstable ppl in Kyiv! You’re just not forced to consistently tolerate them when you’re on public transport.

Drunks are also ejected. A drunk person on a metro platform = staff grab them. Fellow passengers help out.

No system is perfect, but what you tolerate is key.

Look at public transport in a city like Kyiv. It’s a high trust environment.

Stuff happens, but you rarely get horror stories. NOBODY is used to riding the bus or metro with lunatics.

Strict fare enforcement is key. It’s considered a safety issue, not just a revenue issue.

We can learn from this.

Cruise missiles are entering Ukrainian air space now, because what they’ve done so far is clearly not enough.

At least one residential building in Kyiv was destroyed by a direct ballistic strike, dead and injured civilians now buried under the rubble. More buildings damaged.
