🇨🇦 Librarian of a sort, just listening in for now. Getting around yyj on foot, taking pictures of small urban moments as I go. Music, trees, and good people make life worth living. Work in progress.

Missing beautiful Iceland today. Two years ago I was wandering there, amazed at the rugged beauty, standing with one foot in each continent. Now I am packing, embarking on a completely different adventure…

Do you think maybe we cry because our ancestor-instincts are trying to calm us with a moment’s return to our saltwater home

A pigeon pit. I was equally intrigued and repulsed.

Furthest I've been:

North: Gulfoss, Iceland
East: Berlin, Germany
South: Zihuatanejo, Mexico
West: Honolulu, Hawaii

Hoping to travel somewhere new, later this year, anyone looking for a travel partner?

Some glorious colour for a sleepy Southern Alberta Sunday. Amongst the suburban beige of my parents’ neighbourhood, these coleus are tiny, outrageous beacons.

Today is about trying to recreate structure in the day to help my mom get her bearings while in hospital, transitioning to long term care.

This difficult week has been a nice distraction from the rest of the chaos in the world. I know the 🍄🌺🇨🇦 will be waiting for me.

Shout out to Library and Archives Canada. A few months ago I requested information on my grandfather’s military record. I had little information to prompt the search, as my grandfather is long gone, and my mom has Alzheimer’s. Today I got 153 pg. file with photos, fingerprints. ❤️😭 Grateful 🇨🇦

Well hello. Just a stony smile from what used to be a Carnegie library, and is now the Victoria Indigenous Justice Centre. I moved here long after the library closed, but love seeing these little details. Glad to see it being used again, long overdue.

Wanna see something cool?

At the Grammy's in 1976, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explained what jazz is.

The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥

Playing in gardens among the sprites.
Wildflower days and dreamy nights.
Laughing sweet fae enchantingly free,
with the drumbeats we sing, to all blessed be.

Blessed Beltane to those who celebrate, and a happy mid-Spring to those who don't!

These are two of my favourites at this time of year, amongst the pinks and purples of bluebells, camas, and hyacinths. I love the sweet drooping delicacy of the fawn lilies and the deep richness of the crabapple..

Tiny and perfect butterfly eggs. These are the kinds of spring miracles that matter to me.
