you know that thing where you have a 1:1 or a performance review and they go through your job description and ask if you have any questions about your role? someone should do one of those with Chris Mason

Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

You have to treat the posts of someone as toxic as Yaxley-Lennon with the same cynicism whether they fit into your preferred narrative or not. The reason for his most recent post is plainly not praise. It is to exploit the cracks among progressives and divide us further. Why are you boosting him?

That's Kemi Badenoch who was Trade Secretary in the Truss cabinet. I mean, come on.

Whole fucking thing makes me sick to my stomach. An abject fucking liar, a man who lies as easily as he fucking breathes, threatening an organisation which strives for truthfulness. And plastic patriots like the Mail and Farage urging him on. Jackels.

What's fascinating here is that as she rhymes off the list of gender critical people at Newsnight pursuing an explicitly gender critical agenda, in the context of a discussion of ideological capture at the BBC, she doesn't recognise that she was part of the ideological capture of the BBC by GCs.

Tories were complaining about "the last Labour Government" the day before dissolution in 2024, 14 years since that government left office.

That was apparently fine, but Labour pointing out that prisons were left in a mess is apparently passing the buck and blaming everybody else.

A great day for the golden rule of political analysis: when the right wins it is a resounding ideological victory that humiliates the left and when the left wins it is a precarious fluke that will surely end up humiliating the left. Conservatives are power’s landlords and the left merely tenants

Complaining to Labour about problems created by the Tories is at epidemic proportions on here. How the fuck are they meant to have reversed fourteen years of decline in fourteen months?
Hi Lisa Nandy! I’m a BAFTA winner from a small town. Instead of asinine questions like this, why not tell us how we can continue to make a living in the eviscerated creative sector over which you notionally preside?

The next time a woman's assault by a hate-filled man manages to get widespread coverage in the press, and the story sets out all the warning signs that were ignored, the free speech warriors can pat themselves on the back saying "We did that so that Graham Linehan could abuse trans kids on Twitter."

People who pretend their transphobia is rooted in a concern for women's safety can now congratulate themselves that they have taken away a system which helped to identify men likely to commit violent assaults against women and could be used to prevent those assaults. Drink your champagne, ladies.

Have I understood this correctly? Having clarified via the courts three years ago that when the Scotland Act reserved powers over the constitution it really did mean it, the SNP has decided to frame next year's devolved election as a means to deliver a second independence referendum? Curious.
