Trilce is a blazingly vivid revelation of what poetry can be, at once a love poem, a poem of erotic urgency and frustration, a poem of family life, of political fury, a lament for the dead, a work of intense privacy and an address to the world. www.nyrb.com/products/tri...

I much prefer the way the Minneapolis Star Tribune calls them "residents." That's what they are: residents standing up for their community
One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.

Ughhh. This take is reductive and harmful. I have limited mobility & wear leg braces (AFOs). I've used this service occasionally for connections that involve walking more than half a mile. Wheelchairs are tools, just like disabled parking placards, that help folks manage their daily bank of steps.

So the order for the US military to launch these deadly Caribbean boat strikes was straightforwardly illegal under US and international law, immoral under long established standards, and on top of that, terrible strategy.

Not maybe. Not got to check with a lawyer. Unambiguous. Blatant. Deliberate.
