I went to see Lynch's Mulholland Drive last night at The Astor, a gorgeous old movie theatre in Melbourne, Australia. I still don't know how all the intricacies of the movie plot joined together but it was a beautiful experience. #davidlynch #mulhollanddrive #film #beauty #artlife

A landscape format abstract composition in yellow and purple hues along with their mixtures, consisting of rounded blocks, curved sweeping lines of varying thickness. At centre-right is a vertical cone of lemon-hued light illuminating the abstract stage and giving rise to the title; above centre are a pair of twin dark concentric rings. At several points are curved series of short but thick parallel lines in purple. To my eye the work has a bit of a louche feel.

Large contemporary painting probably done, on the art studio wall of Los Angeles based painter Laura Letchinger. Semi-abstract composition of a black cat on a white chair in front of dark French doors with big windows that look out into a lush green garden. The artist (me) photographed this composition when she and her cats stayed with a friend in Venice, CA for a couple days during the Palisades Fire.
