Aged like spoiled milk, this… good thing I don’t bet 😂
Welp, the Florida #NHL outdoor experiment is likely going 0-2 after this smashing in Tampa Bay 😅.

I was in Houston when this news dropped, so here’s my 2¢: I love Indycar, but this move is not it. They can no longer say that the sport is apolitical or tell drivers to just “shut up and drive.” I have no interest in watching this race, though I’ll be pulling hard for O’Ward or Rasmussen to win it.

I’m not sure if people realize just how brutal this level of cold will be for Floridians… this level of cold may bring potentially significant damage to citrus farms in the state, and wind chills this low are absolutely a risk to life. I suspect this snap will give 2010 a run for its money.

🧵SPC will be introducing new information in Convective Outlooks starting in early March. The following thread will offer some basic information regarding these changes. The TL;DR: outlook categories are not changing! But there will be more info for peak hazard intensity.

After the #AMS2026 emergency town hall regarding NCAR, it is ***imperative*** that folks contact their senators and representatives. IN PARTICULAR:

Maine: Susan Collins (Chair - Senate Approps.)
Oklahoma: Tom Cole (Chair - House Approps.)
Colorado: John Hickenlooper and Joe Neguse

This doesn’t happen often when sessions pop up at the last minute, but the subject matter proposed here would probably warrant this emergency session. #AMS2026

Go to schools. He goes every day and teaches science to them. They are our next generation

My advice: get out of your comfort zone and ivory tower and communicate your work to everyone. Even if bosses say no #AMS2026
AAAAAH IM SO TORN RIGHT NOW

Do I watch @spann.bsky.social talk about the future of meteorology or do I watch a @nws.noaa.gov SPC talk about severe weather climatologies?

Trying to do both! #AMS2026

In the southeast region, the HRRR has a higher frequency of exceeding 6-h annual recurrence intervals compared to MRMS, but in the southwest, the HRRR has a much lower frequency, up to just 1/10th, of exceeding 6-h ARIs compared to MRMS. #AMS2026
