WHAT HAPPENED TODAY: I saw this and it seemed super helpful. I'll post links below.

This is surprisingly awesome! If you've never checked out The Dollop, this is a good place to start. It's one of my favorite podcasts. Cheers!

A young lady told me I was "a real one" once. And I've been riding that high ever since. Wherever you are, kid, I hope you know that I'm trying to live up to your estimation. Some days, it's all I got.

Well, keep your chin up nerds. There's always DIGG. Or... tumblr? Uh, maybe FARK?
Enshittification ho!
I was just saying to my wife how the thing I want most in the world is more subscription fees for services I can currently get for free that are heavily dependent on volunteer labor

This is good. But I would change out the "email your reps" to just "CALL your reps" ... Email doesn't get read. Calls get answered and logged. Especially if there are a *lot* of calls.
Many are asking: “What can I do now?”

Here’s a revised and expanded list of actions you can take, in rough order of importance. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/more-on-what-you-can-do

It's too easy to get paralyzed by overthinking things. Sometimes, you just have to move a *little* to get going. Call your senator / congress-critter. Go for a walk. Talk to someone. Good people worry they *can't* change things, but bad people know they *can*. And they do.

1/ OK, Democratic members of Congress in the US Senate. It’s time for some tough love.

I am aware your pollsters and consultants tell you things like “the American people want us to work together” and “ focus on prescription drug prices in the economy.”

Trolling the far right by criticizing Nazis out of context is a good tactic. If they were capable of self-reflection their heads might pop with all the cognitive dissonance.

This is brilliant. Punch in your address and it not only pops up ALL of your elected officials (from city up to national!), it *also* has a handy "Contact" button for each. Click it, dude! Give 'em a piece of your mind.
This is a great website:
myreps.datamade.us
From the input address, it provides the contact & links for reps from the local on up to the feds.

Any time you post a call to action, include the links and info that #empower

This kinda hit me hard: "We lean on hope when we have no ideas to brace ourselves against. Hope, as George Miller reminded us, is a mistake: if you don't fix what's broken, you'll go crazy. And that's where we are now."

hi, cis folks! meet S.9. it's the senate sports ban for trans athletes—a big step to something making trump’s executive order federal law, which is much harder to undo.

A crocodile rushed from the river and said to a passerby, "Don't be afraid. I won't eat you, if you will answer my question. People speak of truth all the time as they walk by my river. Tell me what the truth is and I won't eat you."
The young man said, "The truth is you're going gobble me up."

If you feel despair, if you feel defeated, if you catch yourself dissociating or focusing on what our oppressors are doing rather than on what you can do yourself—that is territory that the enemy has claimed within you.

I got bird brain problems. I don't know where I found this picture, but something about the noisy chaos speaks to my inner self. I can't quiet things down. But maybe I can be OK with that.

My mind is wrapped up in trying to imagine Smokey Robinson and the Bandit (starring Smokey Robinson, of course). What would a Motown version of 'Eastbound and Down' sound like? What would the rest of the cast be? Have I had too much coffee?

Someone should make this.

I made a matching pair of books recently. Did it all myself. Cloth clad hardcover from scratch. Cut the paper, hand sewn signatures, the whole thing. About to start a new project and I'm using these as my standard.
