Good morning.

This is your reminder to get to the gym so that you can beat up racists if you have to.

If you want people to drive less, transit has to be some combination of being faster/cheaper/convenient than driving.

I love taking DC’s metro for my commute b/c the travel time is shorter, it’s less stressful, and I don't have to pay for parking.
Yet another evidence review argues very strongly that simply providing alternatives to driving doesn't reduce driving

This isn't surprising, if only thanks to habit. If I unthinkingly jump in my car for every trip (as many do), new buses won't change that

When engineers discovered that traditional rock salt was poisoning wildlife during the harshest months, they did something incredible. What they came up with is so brilliantly simple, yet so effective, that other countries are now taking notice. This is what happens when innovation meets compassion.

They halved the gold/exp drops in the US release of Legend of Legaia, I didn’t realize the game wasn’t supposed to be that grueling until years later lmao

Streets of Rage 3 was another one that got cranked up difficulty in the states.
one of the funniest pranks ever played on my generation was the myth that japanese games were way harder than the US versions we got. total switcharoo. we were getting slapped upside the fucking head with rebalances explicitly designed to make you cuss out the Blockbuster clerk.

The way streaming services have been acting lately, the only logical conclusion for consumers is piracy.

You got more value out of cable packages than some of these platforms 🤦🏾‍♂️

Yeah, I'm jumping ship to Joplin after having been on Evernote since 2014.

They've gradually gated features behind paywalls and for what? $18/mo to store your notes in the cloud across several devices is ridiculous.
Don't know if any of you have ever been tempted to use Evernote, but any company that eliminates their free tier AND makes current users subscribe to extract their own data is little better than a protection racket in my book.

One more reason why I think books and video games are the best storytelling mediums. We aren’t getting another dense show like The Wire anytime soon, if at all.

This isn't a problem that's fixed with more lanes, it’s more that drivers (especially MD drivers) don't understand zipper mergers when lanes drop down.
🚧 Project will make I-97 wider, safer 🚧
Today, state and local officials highlighted a new $113.8 million project to reduce congestion and improve safety by adding travel lanes between MD 32 and US50/US301 along I-97 in Anne Arundel County.
