A new publication with Andrew Mugler's group at the University of Pittsburgh. It proposes a new biophysical concept of cellular sensing of chemical and fluidic cues.
Biophysical Model of Cellular Sensing
A collaborative paper is published with Professor Andrew Mugler's Group at the University of Pittsburgh regarding biophysical modeling of cellular sensing capability under chemical and fluidic cues in the Journal Physical Review Research. Quantifying cellular autonomy in multicue environmentsLouis González, Hogyeong Gwak, Bumsoo Han, and Andrew Mugler Abstract A cell routinely responds to one of many competing environmental cues.

Congratulating Sae Rome Choi, PhD & Postdoc from my group, for starting a new chapter of her career as Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic!
Sae Rome’s Farewell
We bid a fond farewell to Sae Rome as she begins an exciting new chapter in her career. She starts Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic. During her time in the Group, Sae Rome made outstanding contributions in developing and implementing the microphysiological systems of pancreatic cancer for biology and drug discovery resaerch. Her scientific creativty and rigor, collaborative spirit, and friendship left a lasting impact on the group.

NNMT inhibition in cancer-associated fibroblasts restores antitumour immunity - Nature
An NNMT inhibitor reduces tumour burden and metastasis in multiple mouse cancer models and restores immune checkpoint blockade efficacy by decreasing cancer-associated-fibroblast-mediated recruitment of myeloid-derived suppressor cells and reinvigorating CD8+ T cell activation.

Two out of every three people with Alzheimer’s are women, and the greatest risk factor after old age is being a woman. A Nature Outlook article shows how a decade of research studying the effects of sex and gender on the disease is starting to bear fruit. #medsky #alzsky 🧪
Why women experience Alzheimer’s disease differently from men
Sex and gender research could lead to better, more equitable treatments — if it is allowed to continue without political interference.
