Science fiction, movies, robots, Cambridge-UK based, don't eat nearly as much chocolate as when I first wrote my profile but I do much more sewing.
I am inclined to post more crafts as I make them, but we are approaching the Month of Secrets and I might have to make a Boxing Day Reveal.

The darning course did have a post-event questionnaire (for our modern questionnaire-based lifestyles) but it gave me an opportunity to say how touched I was that they got in some gluten free dairy free macaroons for me while everyone else was having cakes.

Darning workshop - great basis for understanding tension, reinforcement, stability, decoration, techniques. We started by cutting a small hole in a bit of sleeve and darning in contrasting colours. I went on to start on actual holes, and got tips on handling cuffs and larger holes.

A last CFF Craft Finish Festival wrap-up of what I finished in the 11 days.
Since then I've done another patchwork sample block, 2/3 of a cross stitch robin, missed quilt class because I overdid things the day before :-(
Today I'm out for a half day darning workshop with Toby's jumper.

"But if that were true then your life would be impossible" is an entire genre of dismissals of disabled people's experiences.
It's not that they don't understand when we say how hard it is. It's that they can't believe we're still functioning at all of it's that hard.

"how do they ever get anything done, then?"
And yea, all praise to ADHD folks for ever getting anything done because it seems it would be impossible without that motivation and reward. The fact that you are ever able to do anything is superhuman!

Oh god, the questionnaire I haven't completed yet is now trying to send it as texts. Question 1 in the first message, reply (1 to 5) to get the next question. This is the worst thing imaginable.
So many questionnaires! For the HRT repeat, for the diabetes remission programme, as prep for the upcoming eye test and dentist.

I try not to post too close to Bethany Black as our userpic haircuts are now too similar - but this is getting ridiculous.

Many many many small things done. Waiting for the plumber and cleaner to take dates, then I can try to book a haircut, the window fixing people, and a visit from my mum.
Now, a very short walk to the local cinema for Bugonia.

Like when there's been a brief power cut and the clocks in the house reset and you find them blinking, but it's your body which suddenly woke wide awake at 23.54 and is still up (and blinking) but you're not rested enough to do anything and you need more rest or you won't be able to Tuesday.

Ok, November. Need to do insurance, gas safety certificate, eye test, book cleaner (catch up from the Long Covid), book haircut, book Covid vax, request two prescriptions, wait in for two deliveries, dentist appointment, book window people for fixing. And...?

GP web form is tweaked in a useful (for me) way. New issues/appointments it's still just open for triage in office hours. Routine repeat prescriptions, fit notes etc it's now open all the time and they've brought long term condition/medication reviews, vaccinations etc under its remit.

CFF Day 11. Finished some things today! The Liberty patchwork cushion kit, and the reindeer cross stitch to go in a card. Didn't do the quilting, mending, or get to my stretch goal of learning to knit. This was a great way to focus and get started, but I can't sustain it over such a long period.

I'd use smart glasses in supermarkets, if they had a mode where they could detect which products had gluten/dairy in and simply blank them out for me. I spend far too long picking things off shelves, looking at the ingredients, and putting them back again.

CFF Day 10. Unplanned trip to Saffron Walden, then quite tired. Talked about how it would be nice to learn to knit, but did not achieve any craft today. Did finish a book on the bus.

Frankenstein also had cutting and stitching!
CFF Day 9. Day overtaken by other things. Washed and dried two pieces of backing fabric. Out to see Frankenstein soon.
Over the weekend I should be able to finish the two cot quilts, the cushion, the cross-stitch, write up the notes for the sample blocks, and make a plan for my next projects...

I had plans for the day, but the day had plans for me. They included getting in a kerfuffle at Big Sainsbury's checkout and forgetting to use my £5 voucher (I'll go back tomorrow), and chipping the microwave plate leaving it very sharp, so I have to source a replacement.

My aunt was pleased that I sent her a nice woodland painting birthday card, instead of jokes about her age.
I did not reply "Late October is great for autumnal scenes. IT IS TIME FOR YOUR HARVEST"
