Darning workshop - great basis for understanding tension, reinforcement, stability, decoration, techniques. We started by cutting a small hole in a bit of sleeve and darning in contrasting colours. I went on to start on actual holes, and got tips on handling cuffs and larger holes.

I did a darning workshop just yesterday! Pictures here if you'd like a look. The tutor said you could use anything as a mushroom, e.g. a book of the right size is often good for a sleeve to hold its shape.

I'm sure if anyone had told them about an egg or nut sensitivity they would have found something different! They did ask about allergies and intolerances in the pre-workshop questionnaire.
I didn't tell them about the diabetes (will next time) but it had carb and cal labels so I could adapt for it.

Yes, small group of 9. Really useful for getting instant answers and feedback on technique, suggestions on how to approach a hole or a fabric, and and to see what the others in the class do with it. She does classes in Islington. I went from "can try" to "can do".

That's my question about cuffs, but more so, you want it to hang properly at the neck and not have a stiff spot. Here's an edge darn (red). Also suggested basting a piece of old tights behind the hole before darning, a good base for flexibility. Or patch darn with a bit of different jumper.

It would! And maybe give more people the confidence to try at home. There are so many creative approaches. The dark wool pictures are the tutor's samples, she also brought these to show the variety.

Kintsugi did come up in the class, as well as sashiko embroidery techniques :-)

Darning people got straight back to me with a new link which works and they've circulated that to everyone.
Dentist questionnaire auto populates with the info they have on file so I only need to add changes. And their access/support question now specifically includes Autism/ADHD/Dementia etc.

There are robins next door so I got them mealwormy robin food (not in picture). But I've not seen them in the garden since putting the feeder out. Maybe I should pretend to do some gardening, that brings them out to supervise. We get robins, blackbirds, pigeons, a few tits and finches.

But it wants me to log in with a Microsoft work or school account, not a personal one, so I've asked about different methods. SIGH. (Anyhow my Microsoft account stuff is complicated by how it used to be Skype and I never really figured it out)
