I wish that more people knew that when you are standing on a crowded bus, you can take your backpack off and hold it so that you’re not knocking it into the heads of people who are seated :)

no need to imagine. we have years of evidence already.
If they are doing this to white people in broad daylight imagine what they are doing to non-white people in detention facilities.

BREAKING: A young doctor who lives near where Alex Pretti, a nurse, was killed by ICE says in a declaration he saw the shooting, went out to help, was not let through at first then patted down before being let by, and was apparently the first to try and provide any medical assistance to Pretti.

I've been studying the history of US, and indeed, global policing my whole career and I can't make it more clear to law makers that this isn't a bastardization of policing, it is its purest form and logical conclusion. The impunity, militarization, deference, legitimacy, racial targeting, etc.

“Everyone should be allowed to carry a gun for their safety but the government can murder you in the street if you have a gun” is an incredible endpoint for the conservative moment

Wistfully remembering the aughts, when at any moment there was a possibility of Andre 3000 dropping a completely random but incredible guest verse on the remix of a mediocre radio hit

There are also just so many better and less lazy jokes to make about this public breakup
Please don’t make Elon Musk deportation, denaturalization, and disappearance to El Salvador jokes.

Using state power to punish people you don’t like is never funny.

I think it’s pretty messed up that it is impossible to get through to any of Senator Fetterman’s offices today to urge him to reconsider his support of the CR! Getting hung up on when I try to leave voicemails or speak to a staffer at the DC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Erie offices.

How many federal workers would DOGE need to fire to make up for Musk not paying his fair share of taxes?

Answer: 677,000. That's 44% of the entire non-DoD federal workforce.

Again, this power grab is not about the budget. It’s about politics.
