I don't get the press excitement over these "peace talks."
It feels like Ukraine is just trying to keep Trump's favor while maintaining manageable conditions, while Russia remains unwilling to accept anything less than Ukraine’s surrender.

This is what happens when you invite Russia to your home - they occupy it. Literally. Russia said building in Gdansk ‘will remain occupied’. At least they’re being honest for once. I am surprised though they didn’t say the building was ‘returned home because Gdansk have been always a Russian land’.

It's clear what thought process guides the Kremlin. They believe, without the Americans, Europe will not stand united in opposing a Russian invasion of further European territory. What the Kremlin wants is the end of the transatlantic alliance, and Trump has delivered toward that for a year now.
