Shout out to
@lindseyboylan.bsky.social who put it all on the line four and a half years ago and then was hitting the pavement hard since Cuomo got in the race and through today. A portrait in bravery.

Some of the best money I spend is to support @hellgatenyc.com. If you live in NYC, you really should too. I am planning to subscribe to @thecity.nyc starting in July. Their coverage is stellar. Thank you to both of these publications.

Truly an amazing experience campaigning for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social. Support and enthusiasm from the breadth of our wonderful city. Much work to do, but feeling a more community minded NYC coming within our grasp.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Nobody's ever really captured, to my satisfaction, the way that the internet -- though it promises infinitude, all of human experience & history & art & thought in one place -- has instead produced a kind of narrowing & flattening of experience, made the world seem *less* magic & full of wonder.

Love this piece, @vesnajaksiclowe.bsky.social what else can we read to better appreciate 1) access to pop culture in late 80s Yugoslavia and 2) feelings of Yugoslav nostalgia and identity today?
i wrote about Eurovision, coming from a country that no longer exists, nostalgia, and more for one of my favorite literary magazines, @electricliterature.com. this essay has been in my head for years—thank you for giving it a home. electricliterature.com/eurovision-r...

With Trump reportedly planning to end the IRS Direct File program, there's no better time to remember how TurboTax owner Intuit spent two decades fighting to prevent Americans from filing their taxes online for free.

Inside TurboTax’s 20-Year Fight to Stop Americans From Filing Their Taxes for Free
Using lobbying, the revolving door and “dark pattern” customer tricks, Intuit fended off the government’s attempts to make tax filing free and easy, and created its multi-billion-dollar franchise.

Every single member of the Columbia administration should step down.

Through their complicity and their cowardice, they've betrayed their faculty, their staff and most of all their students.

There's no way they can lead that university in any meaningful sense from this point on.

honestly this stuff is insulting
I will continue to fight against Donald Trump’s reckless, and in many instances, illegal attempts to gut the federal government. He is testing our system of checks and balances like they haven’t been tested in my lifetime. The fight continues.
