Online Now: Cancer cell-derived arginine fuels polyamine biosynthesis in tumor-associated macrophages to promote immune evasion
Cancer cell-derived arginine fuels polyamine biosynthesis in tumor-associated macrophages to promote immune evasion
The overall impact of arginine metabolism in tumor progression remains unclear. Using clinical analysis, scRNA-seq, and animal models, Zhu et al. identify cancer cell-macrophage metabolic interplay as the key driver of arginine’s impact in breast cancer. This study provides mechanistic insights into leveraging arginine metabolism to enhance antitumor immunity.
