Another one of my favorite images of 2024: A great horned owl and its owlet snuggle together atop a resurrection fern-covered tree limb, surrounded by blankets of Spanish moss. Taken at 1120mm, I had to wait an hour for the wind to blow just right to create a window in the moss. #birds

i think - maybe in an equally naive way - the fact we are all here together sharing these experiences is evidence that there is a better world that is possible. it might not necessarily be easy to get there, but i’m confident we can make it
despite the world becoming scary i still have a perhaps niave but unwaivering belief that a better world is possible
