Me, a journalist, reading Bluesky: You people just want us to add “and that’s good” or “and that’s bad” to the end of every headline. Not how it works! Think for yourself!

Me, when I watch curling: Ok I really wish they would say after every throw whether and that was good or and that was bad

Latest increase in the asymmetry between large corps and the public. The former increasingly have scale, technology, and market dominance to skew the market in their favor. These are not free markets.
(5/11) Walmart, Whole Foods, and Kohls are switching to electronic shelf labels that can display dynamic prices. Kroger deployed them with Microsoft AI—a setup a 2024 Senate inquiry warned could enable “surge pricing” via facial recognition. (Kroger claims it will only lower prices.)

I'm used to our office taking a holiday when everyone else is working but today seems to be the opposite, the streets are dead. Not complaning!

Gave the oldest a Heeland Coo valentine, took the youngest to try archery and blacksmithing, and ran four miles (too slow but felt good). Oh and I'm making deep dish pizza. Pretty good day.

This is shortline railroading: a train of four cars, probably bound for 3 different industries. It's the "last mile" connection from a transcontinental rail network to small town businesses and a remnant of a time where railroads carried just about everything to just about everywhere.

One way or another, Trump is going to screw with the 26 elections.

Likely: sending troops to swing districts to intimidate voters & suppress turnout.

Also likely: declaring fraud & challenging counts in swing districts.

Unlikely but possible: declaring a state of emergency & suspending elections.

Locking up women will definitely solve the fertility rate!
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

Thinking of the trope of having an average person do each Olympic event for comparison. They should have Vance ski the women's downhill course.

Had to block someone today for being an unprovoked asshole and then doubling down. Maybe they were having a bad day, but it's not my problem anymore. Blocking is great.

Highest honor I can only aspire to
Swiss ski racer Franjo von Allmen just won gold in the Olympic downhill.

He already had achieved a different kind of immortality: There is a sausage named for him at his local butcher.
