This is basic, Sunday-school theology. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to align with the Christian Nationalist theology that has overtaken the American conservative movement.

If you read the red words, it is all right there.
Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com

Chicago faith leaders were once again denied entry to pray inside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in suburban Broadview. This time, on Christmas Eve.

The faith leaders who were turned away instead led a prayer and sang hymns near the facility’s doorstep, and vowed to try again.

Prepped the standing rib roast two days ago and got it on the smoker around noon. Everything's looking good for a delicious roast!

(Don't worry, I will finish it under the broiler to get the crust to set.)

When the kids head out to a Christmas crafting dinner with Nana, it means that Shannon and I can have a nice steak dinner without the kids complaining.

UPDATE: Another Chicago-area church has put up an immigration-themed Nativity scene.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

Michigan basketball with three straight 100 point games for the first time since 1989. They did that against Auburn, Gonzaga, and Rutgers.

This team is special.

I know people want Michigan to schedule tougher nonconference games but I'm trying to get my football work done the week of The Game so I can spend time with my family on Thanksgiving so a blowout over some overmatched WCC team was just the thing tonight.

With 3:03 left in the game, Gonzaga surpasses Michigan's first half total.
Gonzaga still has not matched Michigan's score from the first half. There are 5 minutes left in the second half.

What noise did you make when he just did that reverse dunk to take us up more than 2-1 over the Kenpom #1?

The federal government shot Marimar Martinez in Brighton Park, charged her with federal crimes, and just weeks later is dismissing the case. This follows several dropped prosecutions against protesters. To say the immigration raids have been all around mess is an understatement

Why? They were supporters of defendant/fellow Methodist Brian Straw.
