When national writers know your AD's name for anything other than a long and successful coaching career things have gone bad.
I have no good answer for why Michigan's AD has been the site of so much misconduct with real-world consequences. I do have a common thread however and his name is Warde
@alexkirshner.com I think it’s fair to say your wheelhouse is the why of a thing in college football. May I request a subscriber episode on why this happens at Michigan with the frequency it does? I know it’s more complicated than one man. Maybe an offseason project

This is the point I make to students about the Willis Ward Affair re: Yost. For Ann Arbor in 1934, sitting a Black player for a home game to satisfy segregationist visitor Georgia Tech led to mass demonstrations on the Diag, alumni pulling donations, newspapers inundated with letters to the editor.
A lot of people consistently underrate how obvious it was to past generations that racist stuff was racist in eras past. “It was a different time!” Yeah and people at that time were also pretty clear on what was happening around them, in almost every case
one thing that is important to know is that BIRTH OF A NATION is so racist that people at the *time*, in 1915, were like, “holy shit this is racist”
