What if the thing we needed more of was to do less? What if this was the year we finally learned to rest?

Genuinely laughable that this sub-mediocre-opportunistic-as-they-come no-mark could insist he’s putting personal ambition to one side to join Reform.
He says no one could seriously make that argument. Oh they could, Robert. Your vainglorious ego seems to have cut off the oxygen to your brain.
Robert Jenrick, "I have chosen to put long standing party allegiance to one side and to put the country first"

Laura Kuenssberg, "You've done the opposite"

"You've joined the party that is ahead in the polls"

"Precisely because of your own personal ambition"

You mean adding an unpopular politician who fiddled his taxes and claimed public money to heat his horses who stood down before the 2024 GE because the party he was in was so deeply unpopular didn’t help make Reform UK more popular?

I am shocked.

Shocked, I tell you.

Nadhim Zahawi and family fled to the UK from Saddam Hussein's Iraq as a child refugee in 1978. Unable to speak English when he arrived, he became a hugely successful businessman and an MP before serving as Chancellor of the Exchequor.

His origin story is the very antithesis of the Reform narrative.

Nigel Farage here nailing Nadhim Zahawi's absence of principles.
So, turns out Nigel Farage was correct all along, when he said “I thought Zahawi had principles. Tonight we learn he's just about climbing that greasy pole, as so many of them are”?

Liberal Democrats have urged Reform UK MPs who receive payment from X for their posts to donate the money to charities working to combat sexual exploitation, after the site was flooded with AI-generated sexualised images of women and children.

A patently stupid and self-destructive idea, pushed by very entitled people who had nothing to lose and Putins disinformation machine and voted for in large part by bigots who thought it would make this country great again.

All to the colossal detriment of the UK.

F*** them all a million times.
Letter to the FT that stingingly sums up Brexit and the shit creek we now find ourselves in.
A terrible idea (naive, prejudiced and uninformed) that has deeply divided us and left us poorer and less secure… but unwilling to face up to the damage we’ve done to ourselves. While the EU moves on.
