I have at various times worried that a "face"-turn for Trump would be incredibly easy to pull off, but have concluded that he simply doesn't have the disposition or the discipline to pull it off (i.e. he's a truly awful person with zero grasp of how awful he is).

Davis has always been a reactionary buffoon, but it’s really striking how much X has radicalized people like him. He just straight up calls for Hasan to be denaturalized and deported because he doesn’t like Hassan’s speech.

I usually get eye-rolled for saying things like this, but what my more tech-inclined colleagues are rarely able to articulate to me *clearly* is this: the Great Digitization of Higher Ed--and by this I mean even email--is now essentially complete, but...what has been gained?

It’s a res publica, not a democracy, say people who support the wealthy demagogue ruling without the senate or popular assembly and suggesting paying the army from private funds.
Trump: "I had a very wealthy person who called -- a donor, a great gentleman -- and he said, 'if there's any money necessary, shortfall, for the paying of the troops, then I will pay it.' Meaning he will pay it. How about that?"
